1. Who this policy is from
This policy explains how the Yek Check Android app
(com.jks.yekcheck) handles your information. In this document “we” and “us” mean the
developer of Yek Check, who is the data fiduciary/controller for the optional features described
in sections 3 and 4.

2. What stays on your device
By default Yek Check is fully offline. The following are computed and stored only on your phone, and we cannot see them:
- Names and surnames (yumnak) you enter for a Yek Salai check
- Birth date, birth time and birth place used for horoscope and compatibility
- Name-compatibility and numerology results
- Your family tree — people, relationships, notes and any photos you add
- App settings and preferences
The Yek Salai directory, the Manipuri calendar and all astronomy calculations are bundled in the app and run locally. Uninstalling the app removes this data from your device.
3. Optional: Cloud Backup & Sync
Cloud Backup is off by default. It only starts after you turn it on and accept the consent screen inside the app. If you enable it:
- You sign in with Google. We receive your Google account identifier, email address and display name so your backup can be linked to you and restored on your devices.
- Your family tree is stored in the cloud — the names, relationships, birth years, notes and auto-detected yek of the people you added, together with any timeline milestones you recorded. This is held in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore).

Photos you added are uploaded to our own server at
yekcheck.com, so they can be restored on another device. This covers both a member's profile photo and the memory photos you attach to them.
Purpose. This data is used for one thing only: backing up your own tree and restoring it to you. We do not sell it, share it, or use it for advertising or profiling.
A note about relatives. A family tree naturally contains information about other people, who are not users of this app. Please add only what you are comfortable storing, and only what you have a reasonable basis to record. You can remove any person at any time.
Turning it off. You can switch Cloud Backup off at any time in the app, which stops any further syncing. That alone does not erase what has already been stored — see section 7.
Sharing your tree read-only. With Cloud Backup on, you may choose to let specific people view your family tree read-only. When you approve someone, a read-only copy of your backed-up tree is made available to that person's account, and we record which accounts you have granted access to so their app can fetch it. Only people you approve can view it; the tree is never made public. You can revoke a person's access at any time, which stops further viewing.
Administrative access. So that the service can be maintained, the developer can view the stored records (including backed-up trees and photos) through an administrative tool. Access is limited to the developer and used only to operate, support and moderate the service.
4. Optional: suggesting a missing yumnak
If a surname is missing from the directory, you can suggest it. When you do, we receive the surname, the Yek Salai you selected, any note you add, and your IP address. The IP address is recorded solely to rate-limit and prevent abuse of the suggestion form, and is not used to identify you or build a profile.
Suggestions are anonymous — they are not tied to a Google account, and no sign-in is required. A suggestion is reviewed by the developer and only becomes part of the shared directory if it is approved. Approved entries contain only a surname and its Yek Salai — no personal details.
5. Advertising
Yek Check shows ads through Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google may collect and process device information and identifiers — including your advertising ID, approximate location derived from IP, and app-interaction data — under Google's own privacy policy. We do not receive your personal information from Google in this process.
You can reset or delete your advertising ID, and limit ad personalisation, in your device's settings (usually Settings → Google → Ads).
6. Purchases, refunds & cancellations
Optional purchases — one-time unlocks (such as a numerology reading, editing a share card, or extra tree slots) and the Premium subscription (₹99 / month) — are processed by Razorpay. Razorpay handles the payment; we never see or store your card, UPI or bank details, which are handled by Razorpay under its own privacy policy. We receive only a confirmation and a payment/order reference. One-time unlocks require no account and are not stored — they simply unlock the current result on your device.
Refund policy
- One-time unlocks are digital items delivered immediately and are non-refundable once delivered. If you were charged but the item was not delivered (a failed or duplicated payment), we will refund it in full.
- Premium (₹99 / month) can be cancelled at any time to stop future renewals; you keep Premium until the end of the month you have paid for, and the current month is not pro-rated or refunded. An incorrect or duplicate charge is refunded.
- Heritage framed print: the digital parts are non-refundable once delivered; the physical print can be cancelled and refunded any time before it ships.
To request a refund for a failed, duplicated or incorrect charge, email us at the address in section 12 with your payment/order reference. We aim to review eligible requests within 5–7 working days; approved refunds are returned to the original payment method by Razorpay.
7. Your rights and how to use them
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 — and comparable laws elsewhere — you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it erased, and to withdraw consent you previously gave.

We aim to respond to any request within 30 days.
8. Retention and security
- Backed-up trees and photos are kept until you ask us to delete them, or until the service is discontinued.
- Yumnak suggestion records (including the IP address) are kept only as long as needed to review the suggestion and prevent abuse.
- Data in transit is protected with HTTPS. Uploads are authenticated, so one user's account cannot read or write another user's data.
No online service can promise perfect security. If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant authority as required by law.
9. Children
Yek Check is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from a child. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Cultural content disclaimer
Yek Salai, astrology, name-compatibility and numerology results are drawn from traditional and community-sourced material. They are provided for cultural, educational and entertainment purposes and may be incomplete or inaccurate. They should not be the sole basis for marriage or other major life decisions. This section is not about privacy but is included for clarity.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes affecting the optional cloud features will also be surfaced in the app.
